Kentucky Oaks is an annual horse race which uses only purebred horses that are three years old. The competition is held annually in Louisville, Kentucky, the United States on the Friday that precedes the Kentucky Derby. The entire Churchill Downs course spans 1 1⁄8 miles (1,800 m).
